Setting Up Email on Apple Mail (macOS)
Step 1: Open Apple Mail
Open the Apple Mail application on your macOS laptop. If you're opening it for the first time, you may automatically be prompted to add an email account.
Step 2: Add Account
If the application didn't automatically prompt you, go to
Mailin the menu bar at the top-left corner, then choosePreferences.
Step 3: Account Preferences
In the
Preferenceswindow, go to theAccountstab and click the+button at the bottom to add a new account.
Step 4: Choose Account Type
You'll be asked to choose a Mail account provider. Scroll down and choose
Other Mail Account, then clickContinue.
Step 5: Enter Account Information
Name: Your Name
Email Address:
yourname@youremail.comPassword: Your Password
Click
Sign In.
Step 6: Unable to Verify
Don't worry if you see an
Unable to verify account name or passworderror. This is expected. You'll need to enter the server details manually.
Step 7: Enter Server Information
Incoming Mail Server:
imap.youremail.comOutgoing Mail Server:
smtp.youremail.comClick
Sign In.
Step 8: Server Settings
Apple Mail may prompt you to confirm the server settings. Make sure they are as follows:
Incoming Server:

993Use
SSL: CheckedOutgoing Server:
smtp.youremail.comOutgoing Port:
465Use
SSL: Checked
Step 9: Account Summary
Review the account settings to ensure everything looks good and click
Done.
Step 10: Done
Close the
Preferenceswindow. You should now see your new email account listed in the Apple Mail sidebar.
